Use as you wish; just don't make money from this without talking with me first about it. I don't want to be uptight about this sort of thing, so don't push me in that direction.

I'd also like a link to whatever-it-is you make from this, mostly because I'm curious about what you make from my stock.

Items from this set:
- Compass stock 01
- Compass stock 02
- Pocket watch 01
- Pocket watch 02
- Spyglass
- Balance

Good lord, watching the little devwatch number climb higher and higher, I had no Idea you were submitting all of them. Here's a hint with this particular one: the focal length seems to be toward the back of the balance, so the watch and compass are out of focus. Since nothing in the shot is moving--at all--then you have infinite wiggle room with the shutter speed. Tighten down the aperture to widen the depth of field--f7.1 is pretty good, but it wouldn't be a problem with a still-life to go even as far as f32 at 4 seconds--er...assuming you have a tripod.

I took this photo a couple weeks ago, but I didn't get the chance to photograph each item individually until earlier this afternoon. I didn't want to upload the set until I had each piece ready to submit.

Unfortunately my only tripod is the little four-inch-tall wobbly thing that is probably on-par with a Gorilla-pod in terms of stability...but I'll try to figure something out the next time I have access to my camera. Hopefully by then the wireless remote for my camera will have shipped from Amazon, which will make things a hell of a lot easier since my shaky hands have ruined more pictures than I care to count.

You can use a wobbly tripod without a remote--just set the timer so that it the wobble of pressing the button doesn't mess up the shot. I think it's possible for the action of the mirror flipping up to create some wobble, but not much. I ordered a remote from amazon once which, sadly, didn't work. At all. Hope you got a name-brand item.

By the way, I was looking through the photos I took, and I found one that is much sharper.

...or at least the watch and compass are...but the telescope is slightly off now...

I guess I'll have to retake the picture later anyways, since right now it's just a trade-off between different objects being in and out of focus.

Yeah, tell me about it. I think that what they are, in fact, selling here, is not an actual object but a feature. Supply and demand, sort of thing. See, with the wired remote, you can use the bulb feature, which let's you take infinitely long exposures. The wireless remote is somewhat less useful, in most cases, so they don't sell it so dearly. At least, that's how it works with the Canon equivalent.
